A full keyboard is required - SwitcherSIM is not supported for smartphones or tablets.
*Other Linux distros may work, but have not been tested extensively. For best results, use an officially supported operating system.
If your device meets the requirements and you’re still having trouble, here are a few things to try:
First, make sure that you’re using a supported browser (see above) and your browser is up to date. Then make sure you’ve closed other programs - SwitcherSIM is a resource-heavy software and may run slowly if your computer is trying to run other programs at the same time. Then check your browser settings:
Chrome
In Chrome, make sure hardware acceleration is on. To enable it, go to settings, then scroll down to Advanced, and under System, make sure “Use hardware acceleration when available” is turned on.
Firefox
In Firefox on Windows, you may have to turn hardware acceleration off if you notice that videos are choppy. To disable it, go to Preferences, scroll down to Performance, and uncheck “Use recommended performance settings” then uncheck “Use hardware acceleration when available”.
In Firefox on Linux, make sure hardware acceleration is on. To enable it, go to Preferences, scroll down to Performance, and make sure “Use recommended performance settings” is checked.
Make sure you’re logged in and opening the simulation from the “Go now” link on the lessons page (or the “Watch Lesson” link for teachers) and not using a bookmark or direct link.
